If I am a Verizon customer with a pre-existing contract, will it be honored under its current terms or will we need a new contract with Equinix?
Equinix is obligated to honor all terms and conditions in the existing contracts relative to the colocation business for the duration of the existing contract. However, to facilitate your relationship with Equinix, Equinix would be happy to use your existing Equinix terms (if you are a current customer of Equinix) or sign new Equinix paperwork which would make future ordering of new services or global services much quicker. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
I participated in Verizon’s reseller program. Does Equinix have a similar reseller program in which I can participate?
Yes, Equinix has the Equinix Partner Program. You can find more information about the Equinix Partner Program at http://www.equinix.com/partners/.
If my contract with Verizon for colocation services has expired can I simply extend my current terms and pricing with Equinix?
Equinix is offering former Verizon customers the opportunity to have their current terms extended and matched for an additional 12-month period. If you would like to request this extension, please follow this link to submit an account review: http://equinixanalytics.force.com/VerizonCustomerForm
For current, Verizon GSA Schedule Customers and Federal Classified Customers not transferring at close
What are the specifics surrounding the transaction between Equinix and Verizon? When does it take effect? Are key personnel changes planned?
As part of this asset purchase, Verizon has agreed to divest its U.S. and Latin American data center portfolio to Equinix. The acquisition includes 29 data centers across 15 metros in a transaction valued at US$3.6B. Verizon plans to retain its active orders under its GSA Schedule 70 until Equinix is prepared to accept orders for substantially similar services under its GSA Schedule. (See below for more details regarding GSA Schedule contracts.) Regarding key personnel, Verizon’s cleared Federal Group will continue to provide support to the GSA and Federal Classified Customers throughout the course of the Federal business transition. The same Federal Group personnel will then support the GSA and Federal Classified Customers upon transfer as the Equinix Federal Group.
What plans do Equinix and Verizon have for their GSA Schedule 70 contracts?
Verizon plans to maintain all contracts and orders under its current TFG GSA Schedule 70 contract until customers can transition to the Equinix GSA Schedule 70 contract and it plans to retain its current orders for services other than colocation. While the TFG GSA Schedule under Verizon will expire on October 31, 2017, all existing services will continue to be supported. New orders will not be able to be placed via this GSA schedule until after October 31, 2017. Equinix will maintain its current GSA Schedule 70 contract as well; however, Equinix is currently awaiting approval for a modification to its GSA Schedule 70 to include both new services it believes should be added as a result of the transaction between Equinix and Verizon as well as the new data center facility locations. Until Equinix has added the relevant services and data center locations to its GSA Schedule 70, Verizon will retain its colocation orders. Once Equinix has modified its GSA Schedule 70, Verizon and Equinix intend to work with the General Services Administration to cancel active Verizon orders and place new orders for substantially similar services under the Equinix GSA Schedule 70. With respect to classified orders, Verizon will also retain its colocation orders until Equinix is cleared.
Does Equinix have a facility clearance, and if so, at what level?
Equinix does not currently possess a facility clearance, but it is communicating with its cognizant government agency to complete the clearance process. Until Equinix is cleared and the Equinix GSA Schedule 70 is modified as mentioned above, Verizon task orders will remain with Terremark Federal Group (a cleared entity), and Terremark Federal Group’s cleared personnel will continue to support current Verizon customer task orders.
Will I have a new point of contact at close?
Classified and GSA contract holders’ points of contact will not change at close. We will notify all customers at the time any changes are made to their support model or contacts.
For current, unclassified Verizon Federal Customers transferring at close (Non-GSA)
Will my current contract and services stand with Equinix as my colocation provider?
Yes. For the duration of your existing contract, Equinix will honor the terms and conditions relating to colocation services.
Who are my new points of contact?
Your Equinix Sales Representative or Equinix Customer Success Manager (CSM) will reach out to you on May 1st or May 2nd. If you currently have a Terremark Federal Program Manager(PM) assigned to your account, please continue to use the same point of contact.
